98 Grand Cherokee Laredo - dome lights all flash while sitting or driving

My 98 Grand Cherokee Laredo - dome lights all flash while sitting or driving. I have replaced all of the door pin switches and I thought the problem went away but it did not. The lights flash more when it is cold outside, mostly early morning. I was hoping to get some advice before I start replacing expensive switches and relays. Has anyone experienced this problem and found a fix?

Just bought a '98 GCL and while driving to town today saw the rear dome light come on and then go off a little while later. It did this a couple of times.

Have not torn into anything yet ... but would suspect a faulty switch in one of the doors. Did you solve your problem & if you did what was it???

Thanks,
Ed S

I am assuming they don't flash at all without the engine running... which leads me to think it is vibration related. While you may have replaced all the door pin switches, have you checked to ensure all doors (including lift gate) are closing properly? I would disconnect each switch, and check for continuity when the door is closed. Try rattling each door to see if you lose continuity through the switch. Another tact you might consider, would be to disconnect all switches but one, see if the problem presents itself. if not, disconnect that switch and proceed to the next one, until it does. That will give you a starting point to start following wires back looking for shorts.
