98 grand cherokee coolant?

This is bound to start a debate, but here it goes anyway.

My radiator plugged up, I was towing a trailer up the mountain, it over heated, blew the upper radiator hose, lucky for me, I was able to get a hold of some friends that got me the parts and we did a quick fix on the side of the highway.

Since then, I've put a new radiator in it, bought a back flush kit, some zerex G-05 coolant 2 gallons, a new thermostat 195 degree. And also some zerex super cleaner cooling system flush.

My plan is to put the back flush kit in, back flush it, get all the gunk out that I can, then ad the bottle of super cleaner and run it for a couple hundred miles (about 4 hours driving)

Flush it again to get all the super cleaner and gunk out, then install a tefba cooling system filter, and do a 50/50 mix with the zerex g-05 coolant.

I did some internet research on that tefba filter before I bought it and it seems that people either hate it or love it, and it looks to me that the ones that hate it, never tried it, so I ordered it, it does look like it does a good job of keeping junk from circulating through the system.

Now for the coolant, am I safe to go with the zerex G-05? ...it seems to me that the original stuff that was in there was the same color, (kind of a gold color) not the green stuff. I had a friend recommend going with the red stuff, but that's the DEX-COOL, and I've been reading a lot of bad stuff about it, so I took the dex-cool back and picked up a couple of gallons of the G-05.

Now, am I on the right track with what I'm doing or am I missing anything? And is the G-05 going to be the coolant I want to use?

I tow trailers, and don't want to be stuck on the side of the road again, so I want to make sure I get this right the first time.

I would go with the original green zerex...the g-05 is for newer models and or certain european cars.....it is recommended that we use green on our 5.2 and 5.9 engines.

we got one vote for the green and I'm not opposed to using the green stuff, but from what I've been reading, the complaints come from mixing the coolants, and getting a chemical reaction, in my case, I'll make sure I have every drop of the old stuff out of it, it's pretty much gone now anyway and at the moment, I'm running straight water in it, when I do the 50/50 mix, I'll be doing it with distilled water instead of hose water

I had a water filter on my old truck... It was a WIX brand fit-all base and filter.... The main thing is to have a shutoff valves on both hoses, but of course that truck a bunch of room even with a 460 stuffed in there.
space is a premium inside a Jeep

that Tefba filter is really different, but super simple to, the price is terrable, and spening money like that on something that doesn't seem to have a huge follwoing isn't normally something I do, but this time I figured, why not try it? ..we'll see how it does.
