98 gc limited, when starting, acts like battery is dead, but batteries good?

So its been doing this for about a month, someone said it could be the stereo causing electrical drain.

When I start the vehicle, acts as if the battery is dead and barley turns over until the starter picks up speed and it starts. Battery has been tested recharged anyways and now replaced... It is not the battery!

Now my jeep is not doing anything when I turn the key, good thing it was at home when it died.

Anyone know whats going on? Starter, engine positioner?

Possibly bad wires. Or bad ground connections. Trace the the ground wire to where it connect to the body, disconnect it there and clean the end of wire AMD where it contact the body with sand paper

Seems like dead battery...Any resolution?

Seem to have similar problem... Barely turns over (like a dead battery) but then after about 15 seconds of cranking, it starts. Seems like computer needs to reset when this happens, as it won't idle without a little bit of help. After a minute or two, it will idle on its own, otherwise it runs fine.
Any determination on your problem?

Might be a parasitic draw....might be bad connections, might be alternator.
If it were mine, I would ( in order).

( assuming the battery has been load tested....new or not....and it tests good)

1. Take a digital voltmeter and take a reading across the battery terminals themselves....engine OFF. Take the reading on the TERMINALS....not the cable clamps. ( remember the exact reading)
2. Take a voltage reading across the cable clamps. It should be the same as #1.
Both readings should be over 12 Volts with a fully charged battery. Probably around 12.6. or so.
3. Start the engine and repeat #1 and 2. The readings should be 13.5v or higher. Probably closer to 13.8 to 14 VDC.

4. Charge it one evening and take it OFF the charger before bedtime. Check the voltage again. Then check it in the morning. It WILL be a tiny bit lower....but not that much. If it's below 11.5 or so.....you have a parasitic draw, most likely.

If not....then I'd check out the starter and connections, look for water ( coolant) in the oil and oil in the coolant....but I doubt that's it.

Do a search on parasitic draw.
