97 ZJ Junkyard upgrades?

I own a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4.0L V6, and I'm looking to upgrade it affordably, preferably through junk yard parts....any ideas? any upgrades are acceptable ideas, from engine to lift. Thanks

First, I don't think you have a V6, all they put in zj was I-6 and V8

some possible upgrades are a transfer case, and fuel skid plates. Also tow hooks and tow hook brackets.

I would look for interior upgrades. I am trying to find leather seats and woodgrain door panels with the chrome handles. That would be great if you found tow hooks or some recovery gear.

That just depends on how much trouble you are willing to go through...... I've gotten junkyard "upgrades" that range from tow hooks to mufflers to injecters that "might work" (they didn't - at all). I'm searching for truck coils that will fit my jeep and different gears right now. Good luck and happy hunting!

Give the man a chance, lots of drivers cannot differ I-6 from V6.
later he will understand he ment I-6.

HPD30 front axle from a Cherokee, once you are at that stage with a lift, and do not want to spend more on a D44.

Great 11th post.
I think you need to revise your signature to fit within posted guidelines, and use a bit friendlier approach.

-V8 front springs to put in the rear for a F>R lift (check the FAQ).
-99+ Intake Manifold (it will be much larger and rounder than the one under the hood of your ZJ)
-Up Country parts- TC and Gas Tank skid, Front tow hooks
-Trailer hitch (if you don't have one already)
-V8 Steering
-Ford 8.8 rear axle, preferably with discs, typically out of an Explorer

you say that like the more posts you have the more you know about vehicles . the truth is, if someone cant tell the difference than they most likely dont have enough knowledge to be under a jeep, and if they do get under there and work on things, they will most likely screw it up and that could be dangerous.

There are tons of goodies at the junkyards like everyone is saying. It is matter of looking hard and taking your time. Tow hooks, springs, interior bits and pieces, skid plates, axles, roof racks, oem replacements for when oyu damage yours.....

Junkyards are not as celebrated as they once were... fewer good pickin's in them now days... but until you have gone part hunting in one you'll never know what you could be missing...

Dude he is just trying to find stuff to look for to upgrade his Jeep. He never said he knew nothing about it. So what if he put V6, big woop. Just chill. It will be ok.
