I have a 97 ZJ that runs great in all areas but has 1 small problem. I cannot place a fuel pump relay in the fuse box without it stalling. I called the dealer when I first had problems and they told me how to run a wire where the relay goes to bypass everything and run the fuel pump constantly.It works great but come time for inspection, thet wont pass it with the check engine light lit up. Anyone have any idea what might be shorting out?

The PCM sends a ground to the coil of the relay to activate it. Do you know that the MIL is on for the FP relay? You can use the key toggle to read the code.
