. spent today cleaning up the garage/organizing the tools and getting the flywheel/clutch assembly off the xj motor then putting the zj back in the garage. hoping to start unbolting the zj tranny here in a bit. yesterdays(sundays) progress
oooh what are these....??
where did it go??
oh there it is. notice the word save on the tires haha... now i'm glad we did save them
i guess the engine/tranny/tcase just werent getting along. talk about a love triangle gone wrong. they decided it would be best to go there separate ways...
i'm guessing its cuz the tranny was such a dirty little ******
def needs to be cleaned up
i need to steal the clutch assembly and flywheel tomorrow. btw see those silver rods coming off the engine one on each side of the clutch assembly. a trick a friend taught me. take your stock bellhousing bolt to the hardware store get one a few inches longer and cut the head off and grind in a recess so you can tighten/loosen in with a flathead. these will help guide the transmission shaft in/out of the engine during install and removal
how i left the garage for the night... once i get up tomorrow its clean the garage spotless, put away all the tools in the correct spots and then pull the zj in the garage to get the tools all disorganized again..
overall not a bad day. i wanted to make more progress but ran into some issues. enjoy
