96 Wet Floorboard Repair Costs
After 2 years my leaking AC problem has returned. The first time I fixed it I was unable to find a clog in the drain and used caulk over the seal between the unit and the firewall. I assume that the seal is what is causing the problem because I was not able to find a clog. I called the dealer today to schedule the service but they were unable to provide me a solid price estimate. I'm assuming because of the work involved with accessing the seal it will be fairly expensive. My question is, has anyone had this done at the dealer and what does it cost?

You are going to get raped at the dealer for anything you go there for.

A lot of people have done this their self with some caulking. I believe there is a thread on here about it.

There's a thread showing where to cut inside the wheel well. I did it and found one of those winged seed things blocking the tiny hole. No problems since.

You are going to be horrified at what the dealer tells you.

Tell us what the dealer charges, then come here and do it yourself.

Here you go man. I used a hole saw, caulked the foam stuff from that side, and also put the hose on. My floor seems to be drying up now.

Dealer quoted me at least $1200 so instead of going through that I'm going to try the wheel well method today. If it works I will be eternally grateful to you guys.

The time now is 03:20 PM.
