'96 vs '94 Grand Cherokee

Folks-

I'm trying to find a factory service manual for my '96 GCL. I know a guy who has a '94 manual for sale. I'm too cheap to buy a new manual. Would a '94 manual work for my '96? Were there major differences in those model years?

Thanks

Yes. There were major changes between 94 and 96. The main thing I know about is the remote control 94 infarred - 96 radio There seems to be alot more sensors and electric on the newer models.

If your jeep is a V8, then the rear end changed. There were also changes made to the 249 transfer case...

Actually Jim, the 96 is the first model of the new series. There is about as much difference between the 94 and 96 as there is between the 96 and 99.
