96 straight six just dies randomely help

Jeep just dies randomely.after few minutes will restart.I have replaced so far,plugs and plug wires,flywheel position sensor,and dist cap.anyone else have this problem?Is something shutting down the fuel rail?any help is appreciated.

I read a lot of guys have trouble with their PCM connection. Have a buddy wiggle and firmly hold the connection while you try turning it over.

check your fuel pump and iac. my wife's 97 was doin this. i cleaned it(torx bolts to get it off) and no problems since. it is common and are easy to do.

what do you mean by iac.I have since replaced the distributer as well.still shutting down randomely.

IAC= Idle air control motor, a cylindrical shaped device mounted on the side of the throttle body. If you haven't already read the link above on things to do and check I'd suggest doing that before throwing more money at your Jeep.

the iac is easy and only cost you a can of cleaner(and possibly torx screws if you are like me and drop them)

ok after replacing dist. now the engine is missing not shutting down.Have code cam or crank missing is my dist.off a tooth?
