Basically it means that you didn't use the search button.

The vic is prone to bad connections and weak solder joints. There is a how to on here somewhere that shows you how to fix the coolant sensor problem.

As far as the rear lamp failure I'm not sure but someone is bound to chime in.

yea the bad coolant sensor is almost always the solder joint on the inside of the vic (if your coolant levels are normal). if you take the vic apart there is a pink with black stripe wire, inspect the solder joint for a miniscule crack and repair. As far as the rear lamp failure... Well plainly put... You have a tailight or something similar burnt out. Its usually one of the smaller third brake lights on the top of the hatch. Hope this helps.

That's just it. None of the lights are burnt out but it's saying the failure.

hmm... id start by removing the vic and taking it apart and inspecting the solder joints. They are pretty shoddy from factory anyhow.

Also check the corner bulbs on the tail lights. I didn't even realize I had them until I pulled the lenses out one day to clean everything.

Ok so I found out today why the screen is saying rear lamp failure, the tail lights are staying on after the jeep is off and key is out, and the lights are not on. Unhooked the battery and hopeing it resets it, but if not are there any suggestions?

Tail lights or brake lights? If all three of the brake lights are illuminated then replace the brake switch under the brake pedal.

If it's only the tail lights I would guess your headlight switch is bad. The soldering is pretty cheesy on a lot of the ZJ parts.

Just to eliminate it as the cause, open the little cubby hole on the floor behind the spare and disconnect the lamp outage module. Then join the two connectors you took off together, bypassing the module.

if that doesnt work, be doubly dang sure you see three lamps in the high brake light.
