96 5.2 starter replacemnet

So my starter is dying and I have 2 questions
Should I let it die and replace it
Or just replace it now( it would hopefully be done by myself not sure where on the engine it lives as if its easily accessible

It isn't fully dead it is just starting to die

Id do it now before it goes. That way your not stranded anywhere.

It's on the passenger side of the truck bolted to the transmission. Not hard to do. Takes me like 5-30 minutes to do a starter, depending on vehicle.

Just look under your jeep on the passenger side where the trans and engine meet and you'll see it.
