96 318 running too lean?

I have a 96 grand, 318. I know my TPS needs to be replaced its getting intermeitten codes saying that at WOT its reading 3.8 volts, when it should be at 4.5. I was driving back to camp this weekend, and I couldnt fo over 25mph. IT would start spittin and spuddering, anytime I got on the gas, no power, and acceleration is very week. It idles fine, just when I put it in gear. Hooked it up to OBD scanner...read running too lean...MAP sensor is fine, throttlebody and air intake are clean! What could be the problem? This happend once before, stopped the next morning, figured it was some dirt in the lines, or bad gas! This time its a little more serious. Any suggestions?
