I just bought my first ZJ. I picked up on Friday. It is a 95 ZJ Limited 5.2L 4X4. It has 89K on it and runs great. The only problem I have had is that when I was driving it home I hit a rough spot in the pavement at about 70mph. When I did this the Jeep started to shake and felt like it was going to come apart. However as soon as I took my foot off of the gas the shaking stopped. This is the only time this has happened and I was wondering if this was something I should be worried about or not.
you definately need to worry about it, it may be as simple as a worn out steering dampner, but it could just as well be a tie rod ready to let go, jack the thing up off the front wheels and start wiggling and pulling something is worn out.
check the rubber bushings on all control arms, and steering linkages. Also check your steering stabilizer, and bolts etc... Thats a good place to start.
