95 ZJ - Rear Speaker Grills - HOW to remove??

This question is WAY below the level of most of the "technical" discussion here, but this seems the most appropriate place to ask...

I need to replace a bad speaker in the left rear door of by 95 Grand Cherokee with the fancy factory stereo system. I've got a pair of speakers that I think will fit, but I can't figure out how to get to the speakers.

The speaker grills don't have any visible external fasteners and seem like they ought to be able to "pop" off... when I've tried prying around the edge I can tell where they are fastened to the door, but either there is some trick to getting them off or they take a LOT more force than seems reasonable.

- Help??

The door panel will come off real easy when you remove the screws. Be careful popping the clips out though, they have a tendency to break if you force them too hard. Good luck!

first remove the screw covers: one behind release handle (to unlatch door) and other is in armrest. Remove the screws. Now take a 1" wide X 1/8" thick flat prybar and pop all the plastic push-in fasteners loose from the door being careful not to break the door panel. Pull bottom of panel away from door a little and lift to unhook it from window and get it off the release handle. Now don't pull panel alway too far. You now have to unhook the electric controls from the panel.

Good Luck!
