These codes are good for years 93, 94 and 95.
The above procedure will work for 96 and up but be aware an OBD II scanner will be needed as the above codes could have multiple meanings.
Transmission codes for 42re and mabye others, same routine but displayed via the overdrive light.
May have to cycle the key off for a couple minutes and then try again if it does not flash the first time trying it. I have run into this before. Count the number of times the check engine light flashes at ya, it will repeat the code several times or codes if more than one is present. May have to repeat a couple times to double check your count, miss one flash and can be chasing your tail down the wrong code!!

Replace your TPS sensor if that doesn't work check for shorts in the wiring. I also had a code 24 and replaced the TPS 3 times so I believe its the PCM so I ordered one from kolak and when it gets here will see if that fixes it.

what should i do.
last night we went out mudding and my truck started sputtering really bad.
so i sprayed wd40 in the cap and it ran like a champ for about 5 mins then messed up again.
this problem only happens when i start to go off road and i run through water or muck.
let the vehicle sit for a day or two and the problem of sputtering go away.
the sputtering wont let me drive more than about 35.
i can rem the engin to around 2200 befor it sputters.
mainly only sputters under a load meaning while in a gear but sitting still not as bad still sputters but more like around 4000 rpm
changed plugs and wires 3 days ago?????????
maybe a new cap and roder. i did these like 8 months ago but could i need a new one.
any ideas would help.
thanks in advanced
