95 Grand Cherokee Stalling Problem

I have a 95 Grand Cherokee Limited V8 5.2 with 115K miles. Most recently, the car started to "buck" and then stall after running for ~30 minutes. Sometimes she will start right up and other times I'll have to wait 5-10 minutes before she'll start again. She may run "clean" for a few weeks before the problem re-occurs. The check engine light flashes (never solid) as she is about to stall. I had the timing done, belts, plugs and wires changed along with the fuel injectors cleaned. Use 87 Octane and never let gas fall below 1/4 tank level. Want to get some other ideas before I go for a Fuel Pump. I'll never know when this problem will occur?.

Thanks for your help
Bob

I just went through 3 months of troubles ending up with the wiring to the fuel pump being bad. The wires were black and rusted inside the insulation (I presume water leaked in through the harness plug). I could drive the JEEP for short drives but it would die often and sometimes was either difficult to start or would not start at all. The power circuit for the fuel pump tested fine for continuity but would not carry a consistent 12v to run the pump. I re-wired the power and ground, now all is fine.

If your Jeep is having stalling issues, it is up to you to make the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) issue a recall for the year and VIN numbers for the vehicles with this problem. They issued a recall for certain 1996 Jeeps with this exact same stalling issue. Please either call them or visit the website and enter your info and stalling symptoms. Let's make Jeep fix what they need to.
Either call the NHTSA at 888-327-4236 from 8am-8pm M-F Eastern time, or go to www.NHTSA.gov and click on the right side where it says, "Report a vehicle or child seat defect".
You can also click on this link which takes you directly to the page to file a safety complaint. https://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/ivoq/index.cfm

It does no good to complain unless we let them know about it. Enter a formal complaint about what your vehicle is doing and make them pay for the repairs.

I understand what your saying, but how will any company make it if we expect them to warranty a 17 year old vehicle?

If we were talking about 0-5 year old vehicles, sure I would understand that. But criminie, these are 15-19 year old vehicles. Things are bound to fail (I call it normal wear and tear), and there will be common failures. But to make a recall out of it, is just a little over board...just imho of course. Though, if it was a major safety related recall, I would understand that as well.
