'95 GC Power windows not working
'95 Grand Cherokee Laredo with power windows that no longer work, from any switch in the vehicle. They started acting up and only working when they felt like it for a month or so, and now there is nothing at all. Luckily, they are stuck in the "up" position, but it still isn't something that I care to live with. My first assumption is there must be a relay that needs replacing, but before I start shotgunning parts I wanted to know if anybody out there has had the same problem. Any ideas?

both relays on behind the glove box. One for up and one for down. It is very uncommon for both to fail. Is everything else working on the vehicle? If not, I'd start checking the fuses/breakers. Including the ones under the hood next to the battery.
Having said that... Turn ignition on and check voltage at the 30 amp circuit breaker (26) in the fuseblock. The should be voltage. If not, replace breaker (wiggle it first and try again just to sure) or check fuse 13 in in power distribution center. If everything is good so far, you'll need to pull the drivers door panel and check resistance at the black wire (#1) on the green connector. It should read zero ohms. If not, bad ground. Next, turn ignition back on and check voltage at tan wire (#5) on black connector. Should be battery voltage. If not, go back and replace the 30 amp breaker in #26 (already checked that right?). Next, close master window switch and check voltage at yellow wire on black connector. Should be battery voltage again. If not, replace master switch. Now go troubleshoot... ![]()
