Really, folks, I am not mechanically challenged, but.......

Trying to replace the multi-function switch. Looking at the bottom half of the Steering gear cover there is a torx screw in the middle, and two holes on either end on the front of the plastic cover. I took the torx out, but nothing will engage whatever is in the two holes (I tried phillips, torx). I had a hard time looking up in there, finally had to resort to a mirror and flashlight. It looks like there are two small hex head screws????? Can anyone give some help with this??
