93 ZJ Gas Gauge Empty??

My 93 ZJ gas gauge reads E and the gas light is on. Put $25 in the tank and still reads empty. Just got the jeep so not sure how long it's been like this.

You can start the countdown to end of days , lol . I can't function w/o a working gauge so I installed a new pump . Couple hours later and all was well .

Check e-herko on ebay , he has Bosch pumps cheap and don't buy an Airtex pump

The float that keeps track of your fuel may have gotten stuck
Fuel gauges are notoriously inaccurate anyway

The fuel sending unit float has a tendency to become gas-soaked and just sink to the bottom. You can replace the whole pump if you're feeling like doing some preventative maintenance, or you can strip the sending unit from a junkyard pump and swap it over to your existing pump.
