93 Limited alarm question....??

I've read about the "Grounding of the purple wire with the yellow stripe and how it will permanently disable the system...
My question is; Can I do the same thing at any other point in the system?
Like I need to get into the passenger side door panel for a power lock repair, can the same thing be done there too??
Or how about the switch under the hood, can those two wires be removed from the switch and be spliced together?

Thanks: John

In the driver's side footwell, just up inside the dash, is a black junction connector (I think it's 2 x 10 wires or something like that). The VT/YL wire can be accessed here just by backprobing the connector.

Thanks for the reply...
I assume that if I ground this wire at the point you are referring to, that should take care of it without even having to cut the wire...??
