90/136 amps

Will a 136a alt from a 98 5.2 bolt into my 95 5.2? 46a more current is a lot to gain.
Other than a fatter feed wire and maybe a bigger fuse, what else is there?
Will this piss off the PCM? Or should I just use an external regulator?

I would like to know about this too. I want to upgrade my ALT for my sound system.. Will the pcm be able to handle the higher amps or will it burn out?

It should just be a direct swap without having to add an external regulator, or changing the wiring.

PCM will still regulate the system without problems, you will just have more amperage to hook up more toys.

Its a direct swap, I did this on my 95. No problems no new fuses or bigger gauge wires needed.

That's waaay too cool! With 136a I can ditch the mechanical fan and put in a Taurus fan.

What's the deal with the Taurus fan sucking down the system when it kicks on? A soft start circuit would not be hard to whip up and wouldn't be expensive. 1 wire in, 1 wire out, and a gnd.

Then I can polish the headlight lenses and pop in some flame thrower lamps.
Does the GC headlamp circuit handle 100w lamps? Or are relays in order.
I know my F150 balked at bigger lamps. Every stinkin wire in that thing is sized to the absolute minimum.
