The $6-$10 Billet Grille Strikes Again! Writeup(Pics)

Finally got around to do it. I'm extremely pleased with the look. A day after doing it I had 4 ppl surrounding my jeep at a walmart parking lot, Asking questions about where I got the grille and so on. 1 Guy wanted to pay me $100 to swap grilles right there in the parking lot. I decided to be a nice guy and tell him how to do it himself cheap. Here goes

Materials - Tools
( 4 ) Packs of Bell Door Edge Guards from walmart - $1.49-2.99each (depends on where you live)
( 1 ) pair of sharp Scissors/Wire Cutter/Knife
Time

Each packet contains Two 24" Chrome strips. They're made out of a rubberish material thats easy to cut and bend. YOU DONT have to remove your grill to install them, but it makes it easier.

If you have the 8 Slot grille(I've seen some funky GC's with 9) You will need 4 packets normally, If your grill is bigger you'll need 5 packs. If you have 7 slots, you'll need 4 packs and you'll end up with an extra strip. 7 Slot grill is Longer so cut appropriately. One 24" Strip yeilds four 5-6" strips. Enough for one slot.
Here they are being cut.

I made them smaller than 6" Measure how big you want it. and cut to size. Try and keep them all the same size.

Use your finger nail, a butterknife, anything to open the guards up alittle. thisll aid when installing them

Press them on, do as many or as little as you want. It's completely upto you.
Halfway done

The Finished results the next day(better lighting)

You can alternatively buy the same material at any auto parts store. If your lucky you can find 10-25ft packs for cheap($10-20)
If not they sell 24"x2 and 36"x2 packs for an average price of $5. Which is alittle too much in my eyes. Do yourself a favor and Try Walmart first. Its in the Auto section. I found mine on the clearance rack, but they also had them near the mirrors/interior crap section. They also sell them in black.

You know i might buy some of it in black and paint it the same color changing paint as i did my 2 12 grills, its color changing green to gold, would i still have to sand it down or what, if i wanted to paint it for outdoor use.
