5.9 flexplate (external balance) Mopar PN P4876706 , you'd have to reference it against the 2002 , but I can't see why it wouldn't work from the 02 . The torque converter is fine from the 96 to bolt on .

Jeeps have their own 46RE , similar but like said , the starter on the d/s (02 Ram) as oppose to the p/s on jeeps . It was an exhaust clearance issue AFIK to make them different .

As for the trans , if you can get a better price , say under a grand , that Ram trans can fetch $800-1000 , as was in my case , I got $1200 . Are you willing to risk sitting on it ? It shouldn't last long , dodge always had trans troubles , mine sold in a few days

Great info guys. Sounds like buying it all is the best option so that is what I will try to do when I hear back from him. I know that the engine/trans is still available so I'm on it. I'm thinking I might put in a cam for torque while it's out instead of regearing. Does the 5.9 turn 33's nicely with 3.73's or will I eventually want to regear?

I've heard that my driver side motor mount will not work and I just replaced it. Is this true?

You can use washers or a spacer and the mount will work.

Going to a non-stock cam can turn into an ungodly amount of work. I'd leave it alone unless you don't mind playing with valve springs, pushrods, rocker arms, and lifters. Computer tuning too. Its a money pit really. Just install a nice 2.5" mandrel-bent highflow exhaust and be done with it. If you got money burning a hole in your pocket, fork out for some Edelbrock headers.

Good to know that my motor mount will work. Does anyone know if this swap will make my Jeep fail air pollution testing?

It ended up being $700 to clean out his shop. Here`s some of the stuff I got and a picture of my Jeep taken today.

I guess i started a thread like this at almost the same time...
http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f13/93-zj-5-2-5-9-swap-815570/
from what i gather here it shouldn't be that huge of deal! i have 93 zj with 5.2 and looking to drop in 2001 durango 5.9l
the 5.9 has 106000 on it and runs great, lots more power than the 5.2 thats really the only reason for doing it.
