5.9 Fan ( old subject, new question)
The low speed on my electric fan no longer works. So now I switched the wires so that the high speed runs when the low is supposed to be on. This fix has worked for a while, but we all know that it wont last and it draws alot of power. My question is this: Can i directly fit the taurus fan motor into the shroud of the 5.9? The motors look like they have the same dimensions, but I am concerned that they are not the exact same. Also, is it the same amperage and voltage, or am I going to have to increase the gauge of the wiring? Any info would be a great help. Thanks Guys. Also, if you know where I can just get a 5.9 motor, since we all know those are just laying around
let me know

They do have the same motor, but mounting is a bit different, and the wiring harness is most definitely not the same.
So, to answer your question, yes it would be a good replacement, though not exactly a direct replacement.

I had this problem on mine and did the high/low speed wire swap too. Eventually the fan bearings seized (a week before Xmas) and the whole lot nearly caught fire. Smoke was pouring out from under the hood just as I pulled in to the yard at home. I ended up buying a new fan assembly from the stealership at a huge cost over $700 I think. If you go that route then they were on back order and took a couple of weeks to arrive. They had to ship two as the first one arrived and the fan shroud was badly cracked in delivery. I was without the Jeep for nearly a month waiting for the parts to arrive, but I guess Xmas and New Year in between didn't really help
