5.2L Overheating on stop and go traffic.

My Grand Cherokee 5.2L All Track is overheating! I need help!!!
It has a brand new radiator, new thermostat, new water pump, new fan clutch, new temp-sensor, new 18lbs. cap, no leaking, heads and head gaskets are OK. System has been bled and flushed. It runs on the 210 range, after stopping for about 10 minutes with the A/C on, it goes up to 250. It even have and extra electric fan on the front (pushing) Tempature here on the island is on the 80-90's range. The last thing I did was to eliminate the thermostat to see what happens, exactly the same again. Holy water in the radiator may be the answer? An exorcist job maybe? I NEED HELP!!!

I left a rag inside my upper radiator hose one time. That'll get you to 250 also.

Is the shroud on? Sounds like you replaced anything it could be. There is a spring that goes inside the lower rad hose to keep it from collapsing. I doubt that's it, I'm just trying to think of anything else it could be.

shroud is needed...
also no thermostat will let the water move too fast thru the radiator ,thus not cooling it.
a/c condensor may have enough dirt and debris on it to reduce air flow
bug screen... will reduce air flow
maybe a bigger radiator is needed

Fan shroud is OK, I'll steam clean the A/C condenser. Should I use the factory 190 deg. t-stat or maybe go down to 160 degrees??? Also some people said that it has to be Mopar, otherwise it will not work OK.

the thermostat brand shouldn't matter. with the 160 thermostat you will get worse milage because the system is still in closed loop control (I think that is the right name)

mine has a 180 in it ..... not me ....parts person gave me the wrong one.... runs fine.....
I just didn't look at it before install
Is the thermostat in correctly.... not backwards.
I don't know but some engines have reverse rotation pumps, I don't know if this is the case for 5.2
Is the belt routed correctly... i could be turning the pump backwards, don't know if this is possible..
is the belt tight.... tensioner within limits

What about your viscous fan clutch? Does it freewheel for a while after you shut the engine off? You should be able to get it to spin about 90* after you push it, but if it does more than one rotation, then it's shot.

Im new here but this may help you out. You said you replaced the thermostat, do you think any of the gasket sealer may have blocked the bypass port. OR... and this may sound stupid.

Did you recharge you're A/C yourself. If you overcharge the A/C it will not be able to disburst the heat efficiantly because there is too much in the system. I had the same problem with overheating and found out that it Chrysler put out wrong information on fluid levels and dealers and a/c techs didnt know. So check these 2 areas and lemme know what you come up with. Hope it helped.

The AC system is different from the engine cooling system. Overcharging the AC will cause almost no change in the engine cooling.

i beg to differ sir. if the system is overcharged the condensor wont be able to change the gas into a liquid when it cools because there is too much. and it wont be able to disburst that heat efficiantly. Sorry but I already been thru this problem. I had 80-100psi flux on the high and 40psi on the low. should be 20psi low and flux 60-80 on high. And the dash cooling went from 48 to 38 degrees.

so you are saying that the condenser heats the air before it goes through the radiator? interesting.
