5.2 no start + flooded pass bank

Was having a no start issue, had spark, sprayed starting fluid, no go.

Tryed compression test to see if valve timing was off. Drivers side has 115-120
pass side has 100-110 and a sht ton of fuel. To the point were I could dump a teaspoon full out of tester each time.

Anyone have a suggestion to what could cause one bank to flood? Plugs were relatively new but are soaked. I'm half temped to throw a set of plugs in just to see if she fires.

I have a 94 with the same 5.2 sitting next to it for parts, I know they are a bit different, but I think the fuel rails
Are the same

fuel rails are different. different connectors.

besides, the rail has nothing to do with it, it would be injectors.

that's a ton of fuel and your compression is very, very low. any worse and the cylinders won't have enough pressure to ignite the fuel properly.

I'm figuring the fuel is washing the oil from rings, preventing good compression. Are injectors the same?

I can't see all 4 injectors sticking for no reason. I did run Lukas inj cleaner, but have run it plenty of times in other vehicles

In a 90s 302 I once had a bad fuel pressure reg, dumped so much fuel the oil filled with fuel. But this is only one bank, that's what s got me puzzled

the pressure is regulated in the pump on these
the fuel rail has no control over how much fuel the injectors pulse out. it's all controlled by the pcm. i would start by checking whether the injectors are actually pulsing or are stuck open.

What kind of reading should I have at injector plug? Can I ohm injector or should I check voltage at harness for a pulse?

a test light or just listening to the injectors should tell you if they're pulsing or not.

Tested the pass side bank, signal is pulsed , found that the wire harness going to computer (looks like pcm mounted on firewall on pass side) has no clips and was sorta loose. I'm going to stuff a rag back in next to it ( for now) and put the plugs back in n give it a go

Why dont you pull the pump relay and crank the piss out of it. It may be flooded at this point. It should attempt to start.

I just unplugged all the pass side inj and cranked it. I put a pillowcase over plug holes to see if fuel is still coming out, and it is.

Gonna warm up a bit then unplug fuel pump relay. Crank it till no fuel comes out. Heat the injectors with a hair dryer (wife is gonna love that) then plug relay in and see what happens when I crank it.

It all started the day after I dumped inj cleaner in, and temps went below freezing. Hasn't warmed up since. I am wondering if pass side inj are bad or frozen

Make sure your battery is good and strong or you are going to introduce a whole new set of problems.

I've had the charger on it. I put it on 50amp when cranking too. I'm hopping they are just frozen. Was thinking of tryn the 94 injectors, different part number, but if they fit, it might give me an idea troubleshooting

Well, put it all back together, initially it sounded like it was going to fire, then nothing.

Plugs are wet, but not soaked. Gonna try to get my hands on a scan tool. Starting fluid made no difference.
