5.2 Exhaust measurements

Hi all.
Im trying to order everything I will require for my exhaust. As there are no part stores with in an hour of where I am located. So Does anyone have the measurements of the stock tail pipe and y pipe? I did look it up but got conflicting answers. Thanks again.

V8 exhaust break down 93-98

collectors off the manifold are 2.25 IIRC .
the y-pipe turns 2.5 where they meet .
convertor has 2.5 inlet/2.25 outlet
muffler has 2.25 in/2.5 out .
tailpipe is 2.5 except the 5.9 which is 3"

Stock 5.9 sitting right in front of me . I'm in my garage

Huh the tailpipe in my 5.2 and 5.9 are the same size Although the muffler on the 5.9 outlet is facing inwards towards the ds instead of towards the uniframe. Thatll confuse ya.

Yes , OD IIRC .

Yeah , you might have confused me there . Can't say I fully understand what you are saying . the muffler should be center in , offset out . As for the tailpipe , they can be changed . I assume either your 5.2 has a 3" tailpipe installed or the 5.9 a 2.5 Got pics ? Need any ?

Na I got it figured out. Thanks again man. I think since im going aftermarket muffler and cat I am going to run 2.5 all the way. Take all the 2.25 out of there. Well except the manifolds. I will connect them all with 2.5 id pipe. I am also going to weld it all so I never have to deal with clamp indents again. I am thinking of finding an exhaust paint to prevent corrosion. As I live in maine there is a lot of salt on the roads in the winter.

Hmm that's interesting so either the 5.2 Exhaust is on incorrect or the 5.9 switched sides and has a slightly longer tail pipe. It wouldn't surprise me about my 5.2 that exhaust has been hacked up and welded back together so many times I cant even remember. Tree stumps and rocks. That's a huge cat. I wonder why the diameter changes like that. Your jeeps so clean.
