46RH Transmission problems

Ok, So i looked through the forums and found some help for part of the problems I have been having with my transmission. I went to do a band adjustment on the 46rh in my 93 jeep grand cherokee laredo 5.2. I adjusted the front band based on the information I found on another post i found here. I went to adjust the rear band per those same directions and found that the rear adjuster was just dangling on the rod it mounts to and I found a small "plate" about 1" by 1" had fallen down out of place. I looked in a transmission parts book and found that this is part of the rear band adjuster but not sure how it goes back in. I am trying to avoid taking it to a transmission shop as i dont want to put to much more money into it than i have to until i find out if it still works as I had the front band adjusted to tight and may have burned the band up.
