I am about to replace my od solenoid and my question is, arent overdrive and the tc lockup controlled by the same solenoid? If so, then my solenoid wouldnt need to be replaced cause the tc still locks up. Unless there are two seperate contacts on the one piece.
Guessing...without looking at a manual, theoretically they can't be the same. They are different functions and mutally exclusive. Just because you are in OD does not mean the TC is locked. And just because the TC is locked up does not mean you are in OD.
I have a 44RE´s electrical manual and they are differents solenoids, one for the torque converter and other one for the overdrive. I suppose that the 46RE or 46RH is the same system.
I was talking with a friend today about your last thread. I had completly forgotten od is solenoid operated. 2 3 are band driven. Ive been told you can test the solenoid itself by useing an ohm meter on the pcm/ecu harness which three wires and specs you will have to look up.
I guess I'm just gonna have to replace the solenoid then. We'll see what happens..
And thanks for all of the help guys, i really appreciate it.
