46rh not shifting into overdrive

I have a '93 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.2 V8. I just replaced the original transmission with a 46rh with 120,000 miles on it. It is shifting fine, however overdrive is not kicking in. Its still running at 2500 RPM around 50 mph. I had a friend put the transmission in and he is clueless as to why this is happening. All the fluids are fine. Any opinions?

Have you tried adjusting the TV cable yet?

What about the brake light switch, down by the pedal? I thought I read somewhere that this could cause the overdrive to disengage & make the cruise control inoperable.

I had the OD disengage on my ZJ last night on the way home. It started when I hit the highway. It would engage, then disengage. I wiggled the brake pedal with my foot while it was out of OD & it engaged again.

My cruise also doesn't work. I'm going to purchase a switch & hopefully it solves both issues. I'll keep you posted.
