46re in a 5.2

I am about to seal the deal on a 46re because I am 99 percent it will bolt right up to my 1996 5.2 with a 242 t case with a new process gear. I just want to reassure myself and the boss (girlfriend) that before I spend the money it will bolt up without any issues.
(for those of you on Mallcrawlin its posted there too but wanted to post it to a larger crowd)

I don't see why it wouldn't work. Electronically, they should be the same. Other than physical durability (and maybe length), they're basically the same.

length is no problem. Altering the driveshaft is no big deal. Just want to make sure that everything else is good.
