44RE performance build?

On the new current build I'm going to have to replace the Dodge 46RE transmission with a Jeep version. I'm pretty sure I won't find a Jeep 46RE (5.9 Jeep), so I'll have to build a 44RE. I can swap the transmissions between Jeeps for now, but I need to get one built for racing.

I'll have around 400 hp behind the 5.9. I plan on rebuilding with Red Eagle frictions and Kolene steels. PATC has a rebuild kit for $275/

Any other mods I can do to strengthen it up?

Depends on how much you're willing to spend I guess. Car-part.com lists a few yards in your area that have a Jeep 46RH for around $650.

I would talk to Martin Saine and see what he suggests. He's built 44re's for 600+ HP.

I'm pretty sure you can use parts from the 47re and 48re in the 44re. Like above, that Martin Saine guy builds 44re's for 500-600 hp motors. You should be asking this over on www.thespeedfreaks.net. Plenty of info on that over there.
