44RE performance build?

On the new current build I'm going to have to replace the Dodge 46RE transmission with a Jeep version. I'm pretty sure I won't find a Jeep 46RE (5.9 Jeep), so I'll have to build a 44RE. I can swap the transmissions between Jeeps for now, but I need to get one built for racing.

I'll have around 400 hp behind the 5.9. I plan on rebuilding with Red Eagle frictions and Kolene steels. PATC has a rebuild kit for $275/

Any other mods I can do to strengthen it up?

Depends on how much you're willing to spend I guess. Car-part.com lists a few yards in your area that have a Jeep 46RH for around $650.

1994 5.9L ZJ, retrofitted UC package, NP242 swap, 17" JK Moabs with 32" BFG MT KM's.

I would talk to Martin Saine and see what he suggests. He's built 44re's for 600+ HP.

March 2014 GCOTM. 1998 Deep Slate 5.9
On the Jeep:Hot intake, 52mm TB, Summit 8mm wires, catch can, 703s, insulated fuel rails, indexed Champions, Bilstein 4600s, Eibach lowering springs, Moog SS, Ironman mounts, Lotek 2GP, lots of gauges, sparkly paint.
In the garage: M1 4bbl
In the works: Addco/Hellwig sway bars, nitrous, full polly bushings, full exhaust, data logging, billet UD pulleys

I'm pretty sure you can use parts from the 47re and 48re in the 44re. Like above, that Martin Saine guy builds 44re's for 500-600 hp motors. You should be asking this over on www.thespeedfreaks.net. Plenty of info on that over there.
