4-low in Quadratrac?

What is the procedure for doing this? My handle won't stay to the rear. It keeps jumping forward into neutral after shifting the tranny back into drive. Do you have to be stopped, and hold your mouth just right. This seems alot tougher than my 231 in my XJ!
TIA!

ok here it goes....you have to get rolling a little bit, say 5 mph. then you shift into neutral and yank up on the transfer case shifter WHILE STILL MOVING. put it back into drive before you stop and that's all there is too it...kinda complicated i know. you'll get the hang of it though, trust me.

Select Park or Neutral

I've had absolutely NO problem following this... Maybe this is a stupis question but WHY would you have to yank on a selector lever to get it into low? Maybe it's by year (mine's a 1999) but mine shifts smoothly without ANY force...

Have a good one...
