4.0 ZJ idler pulley help.

my lower idler pulley is going out and i going to replace it , my question is it the top pulley interchangeable with the bottom one?

i grabbed a low mileage upper pulley when i was in the junk yard and id like to find out if its possible to switch them before i pull it apart.

heres my belt routing

thanks.

Weird that yours and mine went out the same week. Mine just blew apart yesterday morning. Not even a warning. I wish I knew the answer to your question but I don't.
AutoZone didn't ask me if it was the upper or lower. I was handed one and it matched what I took off so either they got lucky and gave me the correct one the first time or they are the same.

Not only are top and bottom the same, but they're the same on Cherokees and YJs and (at least some) Caravans too! I've replaced the bearings in my pulleys, but I used a Caravan pulley which looks absolutely identical.

I took a look at the U Pull today and as someone else stated above they are the same. And it does appear that they are on more than one Jeep/Dodge vehicle.
