my cracked exhaust manifold sounded like a noisy lifter. replaced it and it went away

turn it on and look for cracks or holes, paying extra attention to any rusty spots. Black carbon deposits are also a give away.
I changed my muffler, and had an exhaust leak afterwards. Turned out a flange didnt seat perfectly when I tightened the bolts and I found it because I could see the black carbon deposits. Its just a shart in the dark, but its cheaper and easier than gettin into the valve cover.

I dont have a 4.0 but I guess the exhaust manifolds have a tendency to crack near the collector from other threads ive browsed

well, i have to take cover off cus the gasket is leaking pretty bad whole way around, started soemtimes has to be hit or brake cleaned, because oil is dripping on it

Nope just gonna run it into the ground. It's not wirth more than scrap :/ it's leaking at every gasket

The valve cover, rear oil switch, oil filter adapter. Pan . Antifreeze, trans fluid from the output seal

So someone would have to pull the t case to fix it.

Plus the brakes barely want to stop it. Almost like no power brakes. It's hard to explain.

I think I'm with ya... I've been driving 500 highway miles every weekend for a few months. Its been running great, getting 20 mpg. It leaks no fluids. This tap just started. It's not too loud, and hard to pinpoint. I've been reading about the tranny fluid, marvel, amsoil, flushes but I'm scared to cause other problems. I think I'll leave well enough alone.

Not my zj so I don't care lol it's my moms. She bought it without seeing it. -.-

Mines a dream to me !! Her tap starts out very loud then gets quieter
