I like to hear about other people's 2wd zjs it makes me feel not so left out of the whole jeep community haha I mean I know that it's awesome to have a 4x4 but for now I have a 2wd zj as my first car and I'm proud of it

You're not alone. When I was looking for my Jeep, I looked at several ads from your area and Orlando in search of a rust free Jeep. 90% of them were 2WD. Im willing to bet the most 2WD are in FL.

That's true I see way more 2wd drive jeeps here than prob anywhere else I go but nobody takes pride in there jeeps around here also they just beat them up until the wheels fall off I mean I know that it's just a 2wd that I drive but I always treat my jeep good and I see other people around here that just treat it like its another car not like something that should be treasured lol

Well they are extremely inefficient 20 year old boxes that have an average price of about $2000.

Haha that's true but it's still an awesome vehicle I wouldn't rather be in a another one even when it cost 75$ to fill it up when I hit that skinny gas pedal and hear my exhaust roar it's all worth it

Im in the middle off converting my dads/mine 94 to 4x4. I bougt a donor 4x4 with 242 d30/c8.25 with 3.73's. Makes me sad thinking about it without Ratmonkey around, he was very helpful to me on what to get and how to go about swapping everything over.

RIP RM.

I'm getting ready to swap my 2wd to 4X4. I'm ditching the 42RE for an AW4 and putting in a 231 T case. I feel ya on the 2wd problems, My 2wd will go darn near through everything I throw at it. Made it as far as most 4X4 Jeeps would anyway.

So what does the front axle look like? Is it just a straight tube?

I'd like to make my 5.9 2-wheel drive.

Oh really! it has an axle tube?
I would have thought just a spindle attached to a set of control arms via ball-joints, a staright axle tube is just hard to pictue in my mind.

I'll gladly swap front axles. Plus some cash on my end. My zj has 3.73s since it has the tow package
