what jeeps come standard witha 231?

5-speed ZJ's and the occasional 93-95 SE or Laredo. Behind the I-6 only. As far as GC's go anyway.


Jeeps in general? Wranglers all years, Cherokees all years, and the occasionall Liberty.

Uhm, yeah.

Tell us what kind of Jeep you have. Which engine, and most importantly what the bezel says around your 4wd shift lever. It'll say Command Trac, Selec Trac, Quadra Trac, Quadra Trac II, Quadra Drive, Quadra Drive II, etc...

the 231 has 2WD, 4WD High PartTime, Neutral, 4WD Low. (Just look at your shift selector)

Does it tell you on the build sheets? I have mine somewhere on my computer, but before I go searching for it it would be good to know if it will be there...

Yes, if you have your build sheet it will tell you the transfer case number and the name of that system.

My 93 4.0 came stock with a 231. But I have the aw4 tranny.
