2004 Overland + iPod hook up

All righty, sitting in my drive way at the moment is a jet black 2004 Overland. Its got every thing, I’d list what it has, but that’s a waste of time considering the company I’m in. LOL. Its not my Overland, its my buddy Jeff’s, so excuse me after I wipe the drool off my keyboard.

Any how. This things got the RB1 Nav radio and it also has Sirus. Jeff’s got an iPod he wants to hook up inline with the RBI. Looking online I’ve found several adapters to allow the use of the factory head unit to control the iPod, even through the steering wheel. All well and good, but you lose the CD changer with these adapters. Losing the CD changer isn’t a big loss considering the iPod will hold so much more than 10 CDs. But the loss of the Sirus is not cool.

He doesn’t want to use the FM route b/c it sounds like crap, and since the RB1 doesn’t have a tape deck, that counts that out as well. Any ideas on how to connect the iPod to the factory head so it can be controlled from the steering wheel and still keep Suris?

Thanks,
- Ross

Nice! Thanks. I couldn't seem to find this adapter any where. Now I gotta find out where to get my hands on it.

Now I kinda want to go out and spend the money on an RB1 my self.

I love that overland as well. I think he got it just to piss me off really. But its all good. I will get one as well and lift it. I don't want to dump money into my 2000 when I'm trying to get my greedy hands on an overland.
