2004 JGC makes loud shifting noise

Purchased this new and it never made this sound and it is really noticeable when in my garage. While shifting from Park to any gear Drive, Reverse whatever I hear this loud metallic sound that's hard to describe in a forum but it clink, clanks and clunks into gear. Took it to the dealer..of course they said all jeeps make this noise...I told them it didn't when I purchased it but now it does...also...when I put it in drive for instance and I have my foot on the brake and start to let it off I get this metallic sound also coming from the brakes...already had brake work done at 12K..I now have 20K......any suggestions on either problem.....is this inherent for all jeeps??? I have a 4 WD if that makes any difference..but have never used it here in Florida...and most of the miles were interstate miles on long drives....

Me too

I actually get that with mine, too. I've seen a lot of WJs have that problem.

Well there's your problem! Your jeep just isn't being used properly and it's mad at you.

Seriously though, I have no idea what it is- my 2000 WJ does something similar to that too, but it hasn't caused any problems for me.

Mine does something similar... if anyone can come up with a solution, I'm ready to hear it.

That and my doors kind of creak and stuff as well... any ideas?
