2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland

59,839 miles

Black exterior Grey Interior

They're asking $11900. Do you think I could get them down to like $9000?

I was talking to a friend who sells used cars and has access to manheim auction data and these things are going for about $6-7K at auction, so i'm that is about what these guys have into the car. Plus they had just recently (about a week ago) reduced down to this $11900, I don't know what the previous price was.

So what do you guys think?

uh, $11,900 sounds like an alright deal for an Overland with 60k miles. I wouldn't try to get it for $9000 because it just won't happen. Maybe $10,500 but probably not even that low, they have a set price and they won't come down that low most likely.

But what's the harm in just trying you know? I too doubt they'll go for it, but what if they do? The way I look at it is I can go there, test drive it, tell them i'll give them $9K and they can either take it or leave it. I don't need the car right now, i've got one, but they do need to sell the car.

I can allways have my buddy find one at auction and just have him buy it for me, he'll charge a $500 markup fee for his time, and i'll still come out ahead of what these guys want.

It's a private dealer, not a big franchise, which I think might help with getting a cheaper price.

Well, they lowered the price again down to $10900. The ad didnt' have pictures of the interior so I sent them an email requesting some pictures. I have a feeling that if they've lowered the price by $2000 in 2 weeks, that they'd be willing to deal for $9000 or damn close to it.

With the way the market is if they really have to get it off their hands they will be willing to deal.

Mine too, I want an inferno red one though

$11,900 is right about where the market is on those now. Dropping $3k isn't going to happen with most sellers, people just don't overprice vehicles the want to sell by that much. $10,500 might do it or there is one on ebay right now under $8000.

Don't despair. Market is real soft on SUVs now.

I picked up my 03 Overland for $7,500 + tax. (no haggling internet price) from a local dealer.

73.5k miles - Beautiful condition, impeccably maintained. All options. New GY Fortera's. (+ blend doors fixed last Nov.)

see my page in sig for pics.

Apples and oranges. The Overland comes with a ton of equipment and the 4.7 HO. There seems to be 3-5,000 difference in the same year Laredo vs Overland. There is also a pretty big price difference between 2000 and 2003 models. $7500 is a STEAL, I have only seen one that low and it was a little rough. Nice ones are still in the 10-14k range. Any time you trade you take a pounding. Dealers will give you 2-3k less than what they will try and sell it for and they will try and sell you one for 2-3k more than the private party values.

There is a 2004 Overland at a local dealer here. It has everything including the nav system, 43k miles, the dealer wants 19k

19k? I saw one for 19.5 in 2006 with 21k. Had I not just bought, I would have jumped on it

Everytime I look at it or drive I think the same thing

I drove to the pine barrens (NJ) a few days ago. This vehicle impressed the hell out of me with its stock off-road ability.

With list being up at $40K on these when they were new, I do not worry about a few thousand one way or the other. If you look for a perfect price, you may never find it. If you do, waste no time on locking it up, or someone else will.

I jumped on our new ride in April '07 for way more than $10K. It was the right color, local dealer, low miles, clean title, and very clean interior / exterior. We saw an '03 for the same price, but the interior looked like hell.
