2001 Grand Cherokee Gas Smell
I have a 2001 Grand Cherokee 4.0 that has a sporadic gas smell problem. I have no visual leaks in the fuel system. It is defenately a vapor issue with the EVAP system. The worst smell is under cold start and is comming from the engine compartment. It is bad enough that it will cary through the heating system. No codes, bad hoses, or poor performance, just excessive gas smell. Some days its there & sometimes it is not . Anu help would be greatly appreciated.

Check your fuel injectors, they maybe leaking, even a little bit can cause a fire under the hood..
