2000 WJ Limited vs. 1999 WJ Limited, which one?
Okay so I have narrowed my choices down to two vehicles. One is a 1999 Limited V8 and the other is a 2000 Limited V8. The 99 has a little under 95,000 miles and the 2000 has 75,000. I have a good price on both of them and the 2000 is about $1000 more. Is it worth it to get the 2000? The 1999's driver's heated seat doesn't work and it has only one owner. The 2000 has had three owners with the first owner being a leasing company that leased it for three years. There are no problems with the 2000 and it has new brakes.
So my basic question is, which one should I get? Is it worth it to spend an extra $1000 for the 2000 with approximately 20,000 less miles? Thanks in advance for the feedback.

Thats kind of a toss up. They are pretty much the same jeep. Personally, I would probably still get the 99, I trust a vehicle with one owner more than 3.
Anyhow, its probably all a matter of which feels more solid when you drive them.
Good luck!

Guys thanks for your help. I was leaning towards the 2000 but you are making good points.

Normally I'd say go for the newer one, especially since it has 20,000 fewer miles. But in this case I'd lean towards the 99...there's a reason that the 99 has only had one owner...probably a good example of a 99. Three owners on a 2000, with one of the owners having it for 3 years? Hmmmmm....tells me that the 2nd and 3rd owners didn't hang on to the vehicle for long, which tells me there might be a problem there. Just a guess though. If you have access to the service & repair histories on both, that should answer the question of whether there's something wrong with the 2000.
I don't bother to make the argument for or against buying a 1st model year vehicle (99 is 1st year for WJ) since I bought a 1st year WK, and an early build at that!

I'd have to agree here. My 99 WJ was only owned by one person before me. Even though I only bought it in May, and its for sale now, it's definately one of the most solid WJs I've driven (I've driven a lot) its just for sale because I want a TJ now. The 2000 with 3 owners although it could be benign, could also mean the first person beat it up and then got rid of it before it crapped out and the others did as well.

good choice on the 99. I wouldnt buy a leased car. I was in the same position with you a while back. i was about to buy 1999 leased jeep but then i got the suspicion that the odomitor was messed with so i didnt get it. I found a better deal down the road anyway. good luck.
