They're sealed up just the same as any other housing.

I don't mind doing a retro for JF members. I guess if I end up doing retro's I'd want all the parts sent to me and allow a little time to do them. Also, due to liability reason, I'd be asking people to sign a waiver - that's just to keep myself safe since I don't have insurance coverage on service since I'm not a shop

This place also does them http://shop.lightwerkz.net/ but it's very expensive labor. I wanted to have my CBR done by them but it was going to be like $600

Id say for a Retro quick setup hardest part is seperating the OEM lenses

It's pretty easy to do with an OE housing. With some of the aftermarket ones you REALLY have to be careful. Some of them are damn near impossible to separate.

If you mean the factory diffused lens, it will scatter the light everywhere and not be any better then factory.

If you don't do it right it's really not worth doing IMO, this is why my Morimoto projectors are sitting in their boxes on my desk instead of installed on my Jeep.

you'll never get them distortion free. clear pane housings can be had for 40-50$ a set on ebay. compared to the rest of the cost, it's not exactly breaking the bank.

This, I even tried it but it was super wavy and distorted the beam of the projector.

Can you post the photos of when you did this? I saw the one at one point but I wanted to look it over again lol. Beam output shots as well please! The cheapest housings you can find on eBay with clear lenses are in the $100 range shipped.
