1997 Grand heating problems

I just read the thread "2001 Grand Cherokee Heater problem " and I am having similar issues with my 97 Laredo. Mine is a bit different so I thought I should start a different thread.
I cannot seem to get warm air past the heater box under the glove compartment. I put can put my hand on the box and feel it is warm. I have checked to make sure the thermostat is working. Also, I have checked all fuses. The fan blows fine also.
It had been working fine until about three weeks ago. I was on the way to work and had heat. I stopped to get gas, and when I started back up it was gone. When I left work it was fine for a few days. Then it quit. This weekend I tried to trouble shoot some and got it to work. Yesterday when I drove to work it was gone.
Any help is appreciated.
