1997 Grand Cherokee has no power down the middle of the dash...

My friend's 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee has lost all of it's power to everything down the middle of the dash. Radio, climate controls, etc.

Is there a common fail there or do I need to start digging. All fuses are fine.

OK, I decided to do what I do and dove into it. While checking fuses I found #20 under fused and blown. Was suppose to have a 20 in it but had a 15. When I put a #20 in there I heard popping and clicking. So I pulled it back out before it blew again. After I pulled it out I started to smell smoke.

So I tore into the lower dash area and when I pulled the display box under the AC/Climate controls, I found that it smelled burnt. So I put the fuse back in with that Display Module unplugged, a lot of things lit up and all kinds of things around the dash started resetting, etc. So I decided to plug it back in. As soon as I did I could see the smoke pouring out of it so I unplugged it again.

Turns out (to no surprise) Chrysler no longer carries the module. So it's to eBay or the Junk Yard for the part.

I put together a video to show how I pulled the center and lower dash area apart.
