1997 5.2 misfire

Ok I just joined. I was reading for awhile couldn't find anything specific to my problem so I figured I would just ask. I have a 97 jeep cherokee limited with the 5.2 and it has a CEL on for cylinders 1 and 8. What is really odd is it runs fine if u reset ECU with battery (disconnect negative terminal 30 secs) until all the emissions sensors say good then it misfires. Normally takes about 30-50 miles. At first I thought fuel/spark thought possibly fuel pump but now I have no idea.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance. Ask away if I wasn't specific enough.

Run your hand down each wire to check for burns and cracks.

Hows the distributor cap and rotor? They can get pretty nasty.
