Defective Crankshaft Position Sensor
Faulty or corroded Crankshaft Position Sensor wiring or connections
that's where I would start

the FSM for a 97 does not list p0320 as a valid code.

Zee.....I checked my 97 manual and your right. The 98 manual shows it to be a crank sensor fault. Does the 96 throw 320 faults for the crank?

i'm not sure. i dont know why the codes would be differnt from 96 to 97. OP may have a 98 pcm in a 96 model? or actually has a 98?
