1995 Grand Cherokee Transmission

Hello Friends, I have another question for you guy. My Trans in my 95 ZJ finally died on me and I think I am going to replace it with a used one. My question is, how do I find out what exact trans I have? Is it located on the trans somewhere? I know I have an 249 J transfer case because I was able to locate the tag on the transfer case. If any of you have any info that would help it would be appreciated. Thank you soo much for your help. You have all helped me alot in the past.

You have the 4.0 so you have the 42RE transmission.
