1995 Grand Cherokee Laredo Transmission

I just found this web site which describes our problem to a "T". Can someone tell me what the TCM looks like and what will be involved in the repair? Where to find the part? Cost? Can hubby fix or does a dealer have to? Thanks!!

If DH can change a light bulb, he can change the TCM. It is located on the driver's side under the dash, to the left of the steering column, mounted to the firewall. It is not very big, maybe 2 inches square and one inch thick.
Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery.
Unplug the electrical connector.
Remove the module mounting screws and/or nuts (should be in the engine compartment).
Remove the module from the cowl panel.
Installation is the reverse of removal.

Check with NAPA for availability. If they carry it, then you can call Autozone or one of those guys (usually lower prices than NAPA).

HTH

BTW, great job troubleshooting your problem!
