Those were notorious for doing that, my mom had a early 90s dodge (same radio) that was replaced under waranty 3 times and it still failed. Sometimes if you turned it on and off a whole bunch of times you could get it to come on and if you get it to come on just leave it on. There was a problem with the switch. If it were me I'd want a new radio anyways but doesn't hurt to try.

first of all...I6...not V6...second the stock chrysler radios were not that great. Mine's radio reception just got worse and worse...I tried replacing the antenna and checking the wires but they were fine. Now I have a new head unit, just waiting on a trim kit, but I plugged it in just to see if it worked, and holy crap the radio reception is incredible. I have the stock antenna and I can get stations in from hundreds of miles away vs. my stock radio phasing in and out of stations within the city. Replace that sucker. Odds are you can sell the thing for parts on ebay or craigslist for 10 bucks
